ST. LOUIS, Mo. (WIRE NEWS), July 3, 1997 -- Thomas A. Williams, President of Brown Shoe Company today announced that the company will relocate its New York showrooms to the Takashimaya building at 693 Fifth Avenue, effective with the August Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) Shoe Show.
In making this announcement, Mr. Williams said, "The new showrooms will be located above the Takashimaya specialty store in the center of Manhattan's premier retail district. The Takashimaya building is a beautiful facility and this midtown location is convenient to other venues for the FFANY shows, which is important to our many customers."
The showroom space will be located on floors 11 and 12 of the Takashimaya building and was designed by B Five Studio, a New York architectural firm well-known for designer showrooms, stores and exclusive residences. The General Contractor was Silver Rail Construction, also of New York, known for quality craftsmanship.
According to Franklin Salasky, Principal of B Five Studio, "This has been a team effort. Brown talked to us about progress, about flexibility. To reflect this, we designed an environment that is modern, luminous and crisp."
Mr. Williams adds, "We believe our new showrooms reflect the progress we have made in our brands and the continued leadership position of Brown Shoe Company. We will celebrate the opening of our new office with an event during the December FFANY show, but look forward to seeing all of our customers at our new showroom during the upcoming August FFANY show."
The showrooms will open for the FFANY show, August 3 through 6, by appointment only.
