The Brown Shoe Student Design Contest is your opportunity to put your best shoe design in front of the leaders in footwear!

Send your best shoe design along with a storyboard that explains what in fashion influenced you or gave you your inspiration, such as trend, color or style. Your design and storyboard can be rendered in any way that expresses your design concept. You may use computer programs, including 3D programs, hand-sketched drawings, or any other medium. Your storyboard may also include fabric swatches, magazine clippings or anything that explains your idea and inspiration. Be creative!

A completed, legible Official Entry Form must be attached to your entry. Entry forms are available by clicking the Entry Form & Official Rules link below. They are also available through participating
universities.

Your design must be:

• Original
• Not more than 180 days old
• Sent via postal mail, and received between February 1 and March 8, 2008
• Accompanied by our Official Entry Form

You must be:

• At least 18 years old
• A legal U.S. citizen and resident of the United States.
• A registered, active, full/part-time student enrolled in an accredited college or university where you are a declared major in a design program.

Employees of Brown Shoe Company, Inc. and its subsidiaries,
divisions, and affiliates, and the immediate family members and households of all such employees, are NOT eligible to participate in
the Contest.

FIRST ROUND
Six semi-finalists will be chosen from all eligible entries submitted between February 1 and March 8, 2008. These semi-finalists will be notified by March 19, 2008 and will move on to the second round.

SECOND ROUND
If you are named one of the six semi-finalists, you will enter the second round by submitting an additional design - a women's casual shoe specific to the last sizes of each of our brands along with a storyboard that describes your influence or inspiration (last sizes to be provided at a later date). Second Round entries must be submitted between March 20 and April 26, 2008. All six semi-finalists will have samples of their second-round entries created by the Brown Shoe P&D team. Two finalists will be chosen from the six semi-finalist entries and notified by May 6, 2008.

TWO FINALISTS WILL RECEIVE :
An all-expense-paid trip to NYC for the Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) Shoe Show where their designs will be judged by a celebrity panel, and the Grand Prize winner will be announced.

ONE GRAND PRIZE WINNER WILL RECEIVE:

• $2,500 Cash
• 2008 Summer Design Internship at Brown Shoe Co.

Your design will be judged on originality, creativity and inspiration as it relates to one or more of the Brown Shoe brands.

Official Entry Form In order for your entry to be eligible, you must complete and attach this Official Entry Form. Open the Word file, print it out, complete all requested information legibly, and send via U.S. Mail with your design and storyboard.
